Better Together

I have had the blessing of knowing a multitude of people in my life. Some were for a season, some still remain, but each one, in some way, affected the outcome of the person I am today. From some, I learned to be bolder. From others, I learned to procrastinate less and plan more. One taught me to worry less. Yet another showed me that things don’t have to be perfect to be good. This is just a tiny example of the things I have learned from people in my life throughout my years of living. Some of the things I learned have helped me as I continue my journey and some things I realized weren’t for my betterment so I left them behind, but each lesson, taught by each person, had a hand in shaping the person I am today.

Without other people we will struggle to ever become anything more than the carnal man we were born. We each were born with our own personalities and innate tendencies and without others to show us another way, we would walk through life the same person we have always been.

Hebrews 10:24-25 reminds us the importance of surrounding ourselves with others. It says-“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” I am thankful today for the beautiful group of people who make up my assembly. I am truly blessed to have so many friends to speak goodness and truth into my life.

Don’t isolate. Don’t shut yourself off from those around you who could help teach you something you need to know. We need each other.
